CWM Charity Event Raises Funds for Southampton Hospitals Charity

At CWM Aggregates Ltd, we believe in doing more than supplying quality materials and supporting construction projects across the region. We also believe in supporting our community. This festive season, we were proud to host our CWM Aggregates annual charity event, bringing together customers, employees, and local businesses for an unforgettable night of fundraising, entertainment, and generosity.

On the 20th of December 2025, we welcomed 130 guests to East Horton Golf Course for a CWM Aggregates annual charity event in aid of Southampton Hospitals Charity. The evening was created as a way to celebrate the festive period with our valued customers and partners, while raising vital funds for a cause that supports local children, adults, and families through Southampton General Hospital and its departments.

A Fantastic Evening of Food, Entertainment and Fundraising

The CWM Aggregates annual charity event included a three-course meal, followed by live entertainment featuring a DJ and saxophonist. After dinner, the energy in the room truly came alive as our guests got involved in a raffle and charity auction, helping us raise an incredible amount for the charity.

A representative from Southampton Hospitals Charity also attended and spoke about the vital work they do across the hospital, including the NICU department. Hearing first-hand how fundraising directly helps provide additional care and support to patients in our community made the evening even more meaningful for everyone involved.

The Auction and Raffle That Everyone Will Be Talking About

One of the biggest highlights of the night was the auction and raffle, which included some unbelievably generous prizes donated by customers, friends, and supporters of CWM Aggregates Ltd. Auction items ranged from Les Misérables theatre tickets and romantic nights away, to shoot days and other exclusive experiences.

There were also a few moments that had the whole room laughing, including a remote control loading shovel selling for an amazing £4,000, and a tweed hat being bought back for £300 after the guest arrived wearing it.

The famous “barrow of booze” raffle was another major success, selling out two full raffle books at £10 per strip. One lucky winner went home with over 50 bottles, and in an incredibly kind gesture, she re-donated the CWM-branded wheelbarrow back into the auction. It later sold to Mcalpine Projects for £500, adding even more to the total raised.

Nearly £22,000 Raised for a Local Cause

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we raised circa £22,000 (TBC) for Southampton Hospitals Charity. This money will help provide additional support and funding to departments across Southampton General Hospital, helping improve care for both children and adults in our area.

This type of community fundraising means a great deal to us at CWM Aggregates Ltd, and we are incredibly proud of what was achieved in just one evening.

A Huge Thank You to Everyone Who Supported the Night

We would like to personally thank every single guest who attended and contributed to making the evening such a success. The support shown from our customers, suppliers, and friends was outstanding, and we truly appreciate every donation, raffle ticket, auction bid, and kind word.

A special thank you goes to the companies and individuals who donated prizes and helped make the evening possible, including A&R Groundworks, AJR Civil, Ben Boyes & Co, Botley Commercials, Horwill Carne Developments, HH Groundworks, Mays Technical, Mcalpine Projects, SDG Plant Services, Southern Surfacing Solutions, Spot On Screeds, STC Construction, Wilson Mcowen, and Wilson Plant Hire.

Looking Ahead to Next Year

The charity evening was organised by Ellie Rope and Iain Sands, with the auction on the night hosted by George Rope and Iain. In true CWM style, the event was pulled together in very little time after a venue date was almost lost and food orders were still coming in right up to the day of the event.
Even with a tight turnaround, the night turned into a huge success, and it has us all thinking the same thing. Imagine how much we could raise with even more planning time next year.
This charity evening has become a highlight in the CWM calendar, and we’re already looking forward to doing it all again. It’s an amazing opportunity to bring together the people we work with throughout the year, while raising funds for a charity that makes a real difference in our community.
We’ll also be sharing another update once the final funds are confirmed and officially handed over to Southampton Hospitals Charity during the cheque presentation.
Until then, thank you again to everyone involved, and we can’t wait to see you all next year.
