This past month, CWM Aggregates Ltd had the privilege of supplying all the aggregate materials for a transformative project at Swanwick Marina, carried out by the expert team at AJR Civil & Marine Ltd. The job was commissioned by Premier Marinas and involved turning a previously unused, overgrown area of land into a practical truck park within the marina complex.
Premier Marinas made a strategic decision to make better use of redundant space within their site. The project brief was simple yet ambitious: to reclaim an area of waste ground and convert it into a safe, durable, and accessible truck parking area — and to do so with efficiency and environmental responsibility in mind.
Aggregate Supply and Ground Preparation
At CWM Aggregates Ltd, we provided a full range of high-quality aggregates to support the groundworks phase. Our materials played a vital role in establishing a firm, level surface capable of withstanding the heavy-duty requirements of commercial truck usage.
The area, initially uneven and overgrown (as seen in the before image), underwent a significant transformation. Thanks to AJR Civil & Marine’s specialist expertise in civil and marine works, the site was cleared, levelled, and fully prepped using our materials — all delivered on time and to spec. From sub-base material for initial compaction to final top layers, our aggregates ensured optimal performance and longevity.
A Collaborative Effort for a Long-Term Solution
The finished result is a robust, multi-purpose parking area that not only enhances the functionality of Swanwick Marina but also contributes to better operational logistics for visiting trucks and contractors. What was once unused and inaccessible space is now a valuable asset, ready for rental as a designated truck park.
